THE ICEA CLASSIC
USING THE OCEAN AS OUR MEDIUM FOR RECONCILIATION
On Sunday September 10, we celebrated the 2017 ICEA Classic - our annual youth-run festival that celebrates everything that makes WA great - Noongar culture, surfing, skating, basketball, live music, and good vibes.
This year’s Classic saw Thelma Plum headlining the main stage, a successful road closure extending our festive grounds, a tent full of incredible Aboriginal artists, language teachers and other facilitators sharing their knowledge and thousands of people from the WA community coming together in support of reconciliation.
The Solid Fellas; A group of young volunteers from all walks of life united by our passion for reconciliation, and driven by our capacity to build genuine partnership between Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal people to achieve something special. We assemble ourselves annually to produce the ICEA Classic, and are the heart, mind, soul, legs and arms of the event.
In achieving reconciliation through inspiring mutual respect for all Australians. Sharing in the values of respect, reconciliation, empathy, curiosity, empowerment, family, humour and sustainability, every year we aim to make the Classic more than just an event, but an experience that leaves you feeling connected to a meaningful reconciliation movement.
OUR CULTURAL PARTNERS
This year we teamed up with a whole host of local Noongar people, businesses and groups to bring you a day immersed in the traditional and contemporary culture of the owners of this country.
